An Inspiring Love Story - Slumdog Millionaire
During the holidays “Slumdog Millionaire” was given national distribution, which means that I finally got to see it. I, like many others, endured the lines to get into the multiplex but most people were there to see the new Clint Eastwood film, Gran Torino or the many other Hollywood Christmas releases. Slumdog is a special film and I hope more people get to see it. It certainly has all the 2009 award buzz. There is lots to like about this movie, from the colorful scenes, the use of subtitles and the way the story is told. It is a world, unfamiliar to me, trapped inside a love story that is both entertaining and beautiful. It explores some of the history of this part of the world which has dominated the news recently. Made me curious and thankful for my own blessing. This is a big screen movie so don’t wait until DVD.
Happy Holidays
Well this has not been a crazy and unsettling holiday season. I seem to be in a good place, enjoying family, writing, painting, trying to understand what I need to do on Facebook and Twitter, finding people who I know, being found by people who want to know me. It’s all been good.
Enjoy.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is 50 Years Old
When living in New York, I would receive as a birthday present every December, tickets to a performance of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. The event was always trans-formative

Should be Busy Creating Something
“The Devil Finds Work for Idle Hands” or something like that, rings true in a way.
Not that I am concerned about the devil, rather that we all seem to be better off when we are working, using our hands at something.
And if you have the chance to be working at something you like or love the better you see the day as being full of accomplishments.
